Modernization

Modernization and recovery of existing software

Version migrations, recovery of abandoned projects, inherited code to put back on its feet. We read someone else's code and get it back into production, without rebuilding from scratch.

Updating software that works is a different craft from writing new software: someone else wrote the code, documentation almost never exists, and the system has to stay in production while you change it. That's exactly the kind of work we do: version migrations (PHP, WordPress and WooCommerce, dated JavaScript frameworks), recovery of projects left half-finished by a previous supplier, inherited code audits, performance and security hardening. We always start with a paid technical audit: on code we've never seen, a sight-unseen estimate is a gamble for both sides. The audit tells you what's actually in there, how many days it takes and whether it's worth doing, and it's deducted from the work if you go ahead.

Do any of these sound familiar?
  • Your host is forcing a PHP upgrade and you're afraid the site will break.

  • You inherited a site or management system and nobody knows how it works inside.

  • Whoever built it has stopped replying: you have no code, no credentials.

  • You've been told the only option is to rebuild everything from scratch.

What we deliver

Concrete, not slideware

Version & stack migration

PHP 7.4 → 8.4, WordPress and WooCommerce, dated JavaScript frameworks moving to React and Next.js: tested on staging, every deprecation tracked, migrated without stopping production.

Inherited code audit

We read the code you already have: what it does, where it's fragile, which dependencies are abandoned and how many days it really takes. It's the entry point to every engagement.

Recovery of abandoned projects

Supplier vanished, credentials lost, a repository you've never seen: we recover access, domains and code, and hand back ownership of what you already paid for.

Performance on existing software

Slow queries, plugins tripping over each other, pages taking seconds: we measure where the time goes and work on the code, not the theme.

Updates & security hardening

Dependencies frozen for years, known vulnerabilities, unsupported versions: we bring the software back in line and close the holes obsolescence left open.

Server & hosting migration

Hosting changes, cPanel and Plesk, badly configured VPSs, domains and certificates: we move it all with a rollback plan and agreed windows, never by surprise.

Always included

Code you own, security by design, GDPR compliance.

Why work with us

Why M's Works

We read other people's code

It's the skill that separates a software house from an agency: we start from the code that exists, not from a theme to fill in.

We tell you when it isn't worth it

If the software can't be saved we write it in the audit and propose a rewrite, instead of billing you for months of patching.

The system stays in production

We work on staging, with tests and a rollback plan ready: the switch to production happens in a window agreed with you.

In the end you know what you have

We deliver documented code, credentials in your hands and a list of what's left to do: no dependency on us.

How we work

A clear process, no surprises

01

Audit

We analyze the code, dependencies and infrastructure you already have. It's paid, and deducted from the work if you go ahead.

02

Plan

What gets migrated, in what order, with which risks and how many days. If rebuilding beats migrating, this document says so.

03

Execution

We work on staging with tests and rollback ready, then go to production in the agreed window.

04

Verification & handover

Post-migration checks, documentation of everything we touched and credentials handed over to you.

Next step

Got software you can't just throw away?

Tell us what you have in production and what broke. We start with a technical audit: we tell you what's inside, how many days it takes and whether it's worth doing.

If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.
